About
My work lives at the intersection of brand storytelling and mission-driven filmmaking. The films on this site are weighted toward PSA and advocacy work — self-initiated concept projects that represent my editorial approach and storytelling instincts. I make that work deliberately. The emotional and craft demands of mission-driven storytelling are the highest in the medium. If you can make someone care about a stranger's child in sixty seconds, you can make them care about a brand, a company, or a cause. That discipline is what I bring to every project.
What makes me a different kind of filmmaker is over twenty years of running Marx Fertik Design, a boutique creative agency in Boston producing visual content and brand work directly for corporate clients across life science, biotech, technology, and financial services. That experience taught me things most filmmakers never learn: how decisions get made inside organizations, how to navigate stakeholder feedback without losing the work, how to protect a creative idea through a client relationship, and how to deliver something that serves both the brand and its audience. I understand what companies are trying to say. I understand how internal stakeholders experience the creative process. I understand how to get good work made inside real organizational constraints. That understanding doesn't just make me easier to work with. It makes the films better.
I'm also available to collaborate with agencies, production companies, and post houses — as a writer, director, or editor on projects where an outside creative resource makes sense. If you're looking for someone who can step into a production and bring genuine craft and storytelling perspective to the work, I'd like to hear about it.
